Book Clubs

 

The Cabell County Public Library hosts several book clubs at different times so individuals can find a club that fits their schedule.

Main Library Book Clubs

The Brown Bag Book Club

This club meets the last Wednesday of every month from 12:00 P.M. to 1 P.M.  at the Main Library. The group members participate in choosing the books, which usually alternate between fiction and non-fiction and sometimes include notable children’s classic. More>

 

The Third Saturday Book Club

Marshall University provides the discussion leaders for this group, which meets the third Saturday of every month from 10:00 A.M. to noon. At the Main Library. More>

Jewish Literature Series

“Let’s Talk About It: Jewish Literature” is a series of monthly book discussions at the Main Library funded by Nextbook and the American Library Association. Meetings occur Sundays at 2 P.M. at the Main Library. More>

The Mother - Daughter Book Club

This club welcomes all girls age 10-14 and their moms, aunts, sisters, grandparents, or friends to participate in stimulating book discussions.   It’s a good chance to meet other readers and learn from each other.  The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 P.M. on the 4th floor of the Main Library. Cox Landing Adult Book Club meets at 10 A.M. the third Tuesday of every month. More>

Gallaher Village Library

Teen Book Club for middle school youth meets 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 4-5 P.M.
High School Book Club meets 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 5-6 P.M.

“Speaking of Books Book Club for Adults” meets the third Thursday of each month at 1:15 P.M.  This group reads a variety of genres. More>

Inspirational Book Club meets the first Saturday of each month at 10.00 A.M.
“Book & a Movie” for children--meets every second Saturday of the month with Ms. Teresa from 10 A.M. till 1 P.M. More>
