How to Help Out

 

Our Volunteers are an important resource throughout the Cabell County Public Library System. The contributions made by those who volunteer at the Main Library or at a branch facility increase the quality and breadth of library services for everyone in the community.

A variety of volunteer opportunities are available to those wishing to contribute. Depending on the need for assistance at a given time and Library location, volunteers may be matched with various assignments, each helping to enrich customers’ enjoyment of the Library.

Examples of volunteer responsibilities include:

• Adult Literacy program

• Book Club Assistant
• Friends of the Library book Sale assistant
• Computer classes Assistant

• Children program assistant (craft)
• Chess club assistant
• Newspaper indexing project
• New Book Un-Packer
• Donated books arrangement
• Helping with Blind & handicapped department
• Jacketing new books
• Coaching for Summer Reading Program
• Read to therapy dog program for children
• Newsletter Editor
