On April 12, author Jennifer Bradbury will discuss her novel, Shift, a mystery that focuses on two friends who set out on a post-graduation bike trip from West Virginia to Washington State.
On April 13, Poetry Alive will be presented at several local schools. Then that evening on the 4th floor will be a Teen Poetry night from 6-8 pm. Poetry Alive! will feature two professional performers acting out popular poems. One reviewer praised their performance thusly: “They don’t recite poetry, they act poetry. They deliver poetry and make believers of people and poetry. They turn it into theater and it is marvelous.”
On April 14, the Madcap Puppet Theatre will perform from 10 am to noon at the Don Morris Room of the Student Center at Marshall University. The puppets will perform “Aesop’s Classic Fables.” In this production, the Greek storyteller Aesop is an old man recalling three well known and loved stories: “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” “The Lion and the Mouse,” and “The Hare and the Tortoise.” Also, please note: The location for the production was changed from The Comedy Club to the Marshall Student Center.
