Bright Star Touring Theatre, a national professional touring theatre company based in Asheville, NC, will be performing their acclaimed show "Frederick Douglass" on Monday, Jan. 30 at 6:00pm at the Main Library on the 4th fl.
"Frederick Douglass" is an inspiring 45-minute production that celebrates the life and work of America's most famous abolitionist. From his daring escape from slavery and work on the Abolition Movement to his time as a newspaper publisher and presidential advisor, Douglass promoted education as the key to success. He bravely fought to make America a better place for all.
Audiences are introduced to a variety of characters and figures from the time period. They will also have an opportunity to pose questions about the show and Mr. Douglass to the professional actors. The performance is FREE and best appreciated by children in grades 2 through adult.
