Llewellyn McKernan, an accomplished local poet, will read selections from her published works on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the main Cabell County Public Library.
Her newest chapbook, Pencil Memory, (Finishing Line Press) will be available for sale along with a limited number of her previous collections: Short and Simple Annals, Many Waters, and Llewellyn McKernan, Greatest Hits 1979-2004.
Her poetry has appeared in notable journals such as Kenyon Review, Southern Poetry Review, Antietam Review, Potomac Review, Poet & Critic, and Appalachian Journal. She is an active member of The Guyandotte Poets and has also published several children’s books. She has received numerous writing grants and fellowships and has also won 75 prizes in state, regional, and national writing contests.
