To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, we are joining with Marshall University and Empire Books to host a series discussing the book, film, and its impact with readers over three Sunday afternoons.
It's all part of the newly revived Third Saturday Book Club (henceforth known as the Lit & Film Club). The Lit & Film Club series will continue until summer.
Join us Sept. 19 at 2 pm at the Student Center at Marshall University for a discussion of this book moderated by a faculty member of the Department of English at Marshall.
Then at 2 p.m. Oct. 10, we will host a viewing of the film, starring Gregory Peck and hold a film discussion on Oct. 17 at 2 pm.
Also, please post your responses to reading this book at our blog -- click here.
In November, we will wrap up discussion at Empire Books where we will share our experiences and blog posts with Lee's seminal work. For information about this exciting program call the library.
