Join author Sarah Dooley for an afternoon of writing and reading to celebrate her new book, Body of Water. The book is geared for readers in grades 5-9, ages 10-14. The book launching event will be held at the Cabell County Public Library at 4:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Sarah Dooley is a certified elementary and special education teacher. She teaches writing for middle schoolers at the Main Library on Thursdays at 5pm. In Body of Water, 12-year-old Ember leaves the campground every Wednesday and sneaks back to her burned home to salvage what she can. Though much has been lost -- including Ember's dog, Widdershins --the most difficult thing to salvage is a friendship ruined by the flames.
Sarah Dooley was named a "Flying Start" author by Publishers Weekley for debut novel, Livvie Owen Lived Here. She lived in 24 different places as a child, including an abandoned post office, a tent, and a red cargo van. Her book will be available for sale.
