Computer Questions!
The
Summer '06 reading game includes computer questions. There will
be one question per week for each of the eight weeks in the summer
reading program.
Find
the questions on this page and write down the correct answer in
your reading guide. If you get it right, you earn a point towards
a prize.

6. What do you call a vast network of computers that connects
many of the world's businesses, institutions, and individuals. When
you search it through search engines like Google and Yahoo, you
are searching the "free" areas. Anyone can put up a web
site on it, so you have to evaluate the web site in order to determine
if the information is accurate and reliable.
Hint: It
enables users of computers around the world to send and receive
email, share information in a variety of forms, and play computer
games with people thousands of miles away.

5. What database provides nearly 100 practice tests for
everything from elementary to high school proficiency exams to civil
service , military and college entrance exams. ACT and SAT practice
tests are also included.
Remote
access is available. To Sign In, the user name must be a 14 digit
number that begins 0001plus the library card number. The password
can be any word or number that can easily be remembered.
